The course is delivered over one full day, 8.00 am – 4.30 pm. Content is delivered via presentations, simulated emergency obstetric scenarios and group work activities.
The newest version of the PROMPT program - PROMPT 3 will be delivered to participants. PROMPT 3 contains updated data, references and downloadable material together with two new modules, Maternal Critical Care and Care of the Critically Ill Pregnant or Postpartum Woman (CiPP).
Course participants will train with their hospital team. Groups of two teams are paired together to move through the emergency obstetric scenarios. Each team will learn how to setup a scenario, facilitate and debrief.
Each course participant is provided with the following PROMPT resource materials:
The course resource manuals will be mailed to the team contact approximately two weeks before the course including suggestions for pre-reading.
The Australian / New Zealand Edition of the PROMPT resource manuals are currently being published. T3 courses delivered in 2019 will be done using the UK edition of the manuals. Course participants will receive a copy of the localised version once published.

From time to time hospitals may need to train additional staff in PROMPT facilitation. To support hospitals to maintain adequate faculty numbers registration for individual attendees who meet the following criteria will be accepted, subject to availability:

The final course program, inclusive of obstetric emergencies to be covered on the day will be made available to participants two weeks before the course date
The course will be held at the Adelaide Health Simulation Centre @ The University of Adelaide. The centre is purpose built and assists participants understand the fidelity of the program before running it in their own hospital.
Located close to public transport getting to the centre is easy. Parking is available at parking stations nearby, with limited street parking available in the vicinity
