RANZCOG 2024 Regional Symposium Overview

The RANZCOG 2024 Regional Symposium took place from Thursday 11 - Sunday 14 April 2024 at the Stamford Grand Glenelg

The Scientific Program  featured a mix of sessions across the Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialty, including important updates on regionally focused programs for RANZCOG members practicing in regional, rural and remote areas, as well as a trade exhibition. A Lunch and Learn Session held Saturday 13 April during the lunch catering break and Breakfast Masterclass was hosted on the second day of the Main Program of the meeting . The social program included a President’s Appreciation Dinner and the Regional Symposium Meeting Dinner.  

he meeting was attended by 320 delegates.

The Regional Symposium featured:

·       2 days of plenary sessions and panels

·       30 invited speakers and four free communication presentations

·      5 pre-meeting workshops

·       17 sponsors and exhibitors

·       130 accepted abstracts

·       112 e-posters were displayed in the plenary room during the main catering breaks and were also available on the Meeting app

·       14 Static posters were available for viewing onsite in the main plenary room

Awards

Best Free Communication was award to Nimantha Abeygunasekara for the presentation titled General Practitioners Perspectives on the Diagnostic Delay of Endometriosis

Best Static Poster (South Australian and Northern Territory Committee Prize)  was awarded to  Isabelle Kiew  for the presentation titled Abberant Insertion of an IDC into a Ureter of a Postpartum Woman and a Literature Review

John O'Loughlin Medal was awarded to Kimblery Seeto  for the presentation titled Patterns of Care of Onward Referrals for Outreach Specialist Gynaecological Services
