Pre-Meeting Workshops

The RANZCOG 2025 Regional Symposium Pre-Meeting Workshop program will take place on Thursday, 10th April, and Friday, 11th April 2025. Regardless of your membership category, whether you are a Prevocational member or a Fellow, there's something for everyone.

This year, the Working Group has decided that to truly reflect the nature of a multidisciplinary approach to women's healthcare, all membership categories are welcome to register for all workshops. What has traditionally been labelled a "Diplomates Day" or "GP Obstetricians Day" in the past is now open to all attendees and has been renamed "Navigating Complex Cases Workshop". This workshop is still eligible for RACGP and ACCRM approval (currently underway). 

Navigating Complex Cases Workshop

This full day workshop will deep dive into how to approach complex cases in Regional and Rural practice: covering the full spectrum of O&G, this workshop will include complex case discussion sessions, practical stations and investigating Pelvic Pain services in regional Australia.

Abortion and Contraception Workshop

Delivery of abortion services is an essential part of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialty: in this workshop, delegates will be able to learn the finer points regarding delivery of services as well as a deep dive in how to support women and girls accessing this service across the country.

Medico Legal Workshop

Medico legal issues impact medical practice and there is a significant lack of understanding of the medico legal system from practitioners. This workshop will give you an opportunity to talk to plaintiff and defendent lawyers, understand how the system works and gain understanding into common pitfalls into how the system works. Come along for a front row seat at a mock trial!

OASI Workshop

This workshop is designed for medical professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in in the repair of third- and fourth-degree perineal tears using porcine anal sphincters.  Perineal repair, a critical aspect of obstetric and gynaecological care and throughout this workshop, participants will engage in hands-on training, interactive discussions, and comprehensive demonstrations to develop a deep understanding of perineal anatomy, recognise different types of perineal trauma, and master the techniques for effective repair.
